Crowd for Angels
Crowd for Angels (UK) Limited (CfA) is an FCA authorised crowdfunding platform which offers its clients both debt and equity funding. Launched in January 2014, the company has developed a sophisticated platform and helped growth companies connect with thousands of investors to raise the funds they need for expansion.
Via Crowd for Angels, investors get the opportunity to invest in shares and high interest crowd bonds that can be held within the tax free Innovative Finance ISA (IF-ISA) wrapper. Crowd for Angels was one of the first crowdfunding platforms to be granted permission from HMRC to manage the IF-ISA.
To date, Crowd for Angels has successfully raised several million pounds for a number of ambitious growth companies via a mix of equity and debt pitches. The company’s long-term aim is to be one of the largest crowdfunding platforms in the UK, Europe and internationally.
In January 2018, Crowd for Angels launched a 5 year bond with the intention to raise up to £50 million, along with its own Initial Coin Offering (ICO). The “Liquid Crypto Bond” will see investors receive up to 99 digital “ANGEL” tokens which are being issued as a reward for investing in the Bonds at no additional cost to investors.
The proceeds of the bond will be used to invest in a range of Crowd Bonds listed on the Crowd for Angels platform, with the tokens being used as a currency for marketing spend. The company expects to have the tokens traded on external exchanges following their issue and for them to be traded on its own internal marketplace.
Crowd for Angels is majority owned by its founders and is managed by a team with over 100 years’ experience in the financial services industry. They are supported by a team of five specialist advisors who have expertise across a number of areas including technology, investment banking, blockchain, entrepreneurship and fixed income.
